Seventy-five years after she vanished over the Pacific Ocean, a new search is launch for Amelia Earhart.

A research team from The International Group for Historic Aircraft Recovery (TIGHAR) will search an area near the remote island of Nikumaroro with high-tech equipment.

Earhart was lost on July 2, 1937. She was 39 years old.

This search will be the tenth time in 23 years that effort has been made to find Earhart's plane, the Electra. Earhart was flying around the world when she disappeared.
