Metra passengers will soon be able to plug in and recharge electronic devices during their commute. The new feature is a part of the rail agency's multi-million dollar rehab program.

One hundred seventy six passenger cars built between 1995 and 1998 will be upgraded. Other improvements include new bathrooms, wheelchair lifts and new floors and seats.

So far, 40 cars have had a makeover.

Another 60 are expected to be done by the end of the year.
