A small plane crashed Wednesday morning as it tried to take off from the Aurora airport. The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating.

The single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza was headed from California to Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

A pilot and co-pilot were on board. They were not hurt.

The Kane County Sheriff's office says the plane lost power on takeoff.

The pilot attempted to land the plane in a cornfield and crashed.
