FACE AIDS Ride

July 29, 2012 (CHICAGO)

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says nearly 20 percent don't know they're infected. Right now, students from the Chicago area are part of the "FACE AIDS" (http://faceaids.org/) group that's biking across the U.S. from California to Massachusetts to raise money and awareness for AIDS research.

Along the way, they're giving presentations about FACE AIDS, the HIV/ AIDS pandemic, and the role of students in promoting social justice.

The riders spent July 28 and 29, 2012, in Chicago for a rest day. Gabi Greenberg from Highland Park, Sam Patel from Niles, and Augie Lindmark, who grew up in Deerfield, stopped by our ABC7 studio to tell us about their mission.
