The Cook County Medical Examiner's office says 19-year-old collapsed on the University of Illinois-Chicago field.
He was taken to the hospital, but couldn't be saved.
An autopsy was scheduled for Thursday.
Robert Morris officials say they're devastated by his death.
"I think the overwhelming thing I've heard is that this was a young man who was doing everything well and everything right," said university spokesperson Mablene Kruger. "And it's just tragedy for his family and his friends."
Lupian was a sophomore accounting major at Robert Morris.
