Illinois EPA: Sauk Village water free of vinyl chloride

The Illinois EPA says vinyl chloride is no longer detected in the water in suburban Sauk Village.

Temporary air strippers were brought in after the chemical was found in the water to remove vinyl chloride, a man-made chemical that can cause cancer.

Citizens in Sauk Village have been provided bottled water for free since the chemical was found in groundwater.
