Exercise could help promote healthy bones

Engaging in more than two hours of physical activity per week could help premenopausal women maintain healthy bones.

Scientists say this proves even small amounts of exercise seem to have a significant effect on bone growth by promoting bone formation.

Researchers reporting in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism say physical activity training such as walking is simple and inexpensive and can result in great health benefits not just for the bones.
