Some Chicago Public School students paid tribute to Martin Luther King by symbolically weeding out hate.

Marquette School of Excellence students pulled weeds Tuesday morning to symbolically root out bullying and violent instincts. The Weed Out Hate Initiative worked with Southwest Organizing Project on the event.

Students will symbolically sow seeds of peace as well and improve the school's garden.
