Chicago Police officers on the city's South Side literally went to bat for the community they serve on Saturday.

It was cops versus community members at Armstrong Park on South Saint Lawrence.

Wentworth District officers challenged residents to a friendly game of softball.

Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy was there to cheer on both sides.

So far, there is no word on which team won the game.
