The incident happened about two weeks ago in the 2100-block of West Marquette on the South Side.
Police say a 12-year-old girl was walking home from school when a man approached her in a car. He got out of the car and chased her for about a block before running away.
Investigators say the suspect was driving a 2006 four-door Dodge Stratus. It is described as beige in color with tinted windows.
