City parks to benefit from NATO Summit capital

Mayor Rahm Emanuel toured Riis Park on the city's Northwest Side to talk about the benefits some of Chicago's parks will be receiving, courtesy of funds from the NATO Summit.

Riis is one of six parks the mayors says will undergo improvements paid for by leftover capital raised for last spring's gathering of international leaders and by Park District capital funds.

In total, $6.5 million will be invested in expansion and improvements of recreation facilities at the parks, as well as four Park District boathouses along the Chicago River.
