Chicago police tell ABC7 the 65-year-old flight attendant was going through a security checkpoint when a small gun was found in her carry-on bag. She was taken aside and questioned.
Officials say the woman told authorities the gun was her husband's, that she and her husband both used the bag and that it was a misunderstanding.
The Cook County State's Attorney's office is expected to file charges.
