Two years after the disappearance of a 6-year-old Aurora boy, police say they have no concrete evidence whether he is dead or alive.

Timmothy Pitzen vanished with his mother, Amy, two years ago Saturday.

She later killed herself at a hotel in Rockford. She left a note that said Timmothy was safe and with people who will take care of him.

Aurora police and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children get about five tips a month on the case and the family is still hopeful.

"You really feel for a family who for the past two years has wondered whether their son is still alive," said Det. Lee Catavu, Aurora Police.

The detective says key people in the case of being re-interviewed on video and those interviews are being shared with other law enforcement agencies.
