Severe weather possible overnight in Chicago area

May 30, 2013 (CHICAGO) A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1 a.m. for Ford, Iroquois, Kankakee, and Will counties in Illinois, and Benton, Jasper, Lake, Newton and Porter counties in Indiana until 2 a.m.

In Indiana, as many as 2,000 people are without power after strong storms knocked down powerlines.

A flash flood watch is in effect for Boone; Cook; De Kalb; DuPage; Ford; Grundy; Iroquois; Kane; Kankakee; Kendall; Lake; Lee; McHenry; Ogle; Will; Winnebago counties.

A WATCH means conditions are favorable for activity in and close to the area.
