Teens charged in party shooting death

A 19-year-old and two other teenagers are facing charges in connection with the murder of a Chicago teen who was shot at a party late Friday.

Police say the victim, 18-year-old Dionte Maxwell, was shot in the chest.

The shooting happened shortly before 11 p.m. Friday on the 8400-block of South Constance Avenue.

Witnesses say the gunfire was part of altercation at a birthday party.

Charles Southern, 19, is charged with first-degree murder.

Chicago police said Sunday two 16-year-olds also were in jail facing armed home invasion and other charges.

A 19-year-old is also in custody but not yet charged in the case.
