Charles Southern and two other teenagers are facing charges in connection with the murder of a Chicago teen who was shot at a party late Friday.
Southern was ordered to be held without bail. He is charged with first degree murder.
Two 16-year-olds are also charged with armed home invasion stemming from the incident.
Prosecutors say Southern shot 18-year-old Dionte Maxwell in the chest.
The shooting happened shortly before 11 p.m. on Friday on the 8400-block of South Constance Avenue.
Witnesses say the gunfire was part of altercation at a birthday party.
A 19-year-old is also in custody but not yet charged in the case.
