It's been one month since the reconstruction project on the CTA's red line got underway, and officials today say the project remains on schedule and within its budget.

Service on the Red Line has been halted between Chinatown south to the end of the line at 95th street since the project began back on May 19.

The CTA says about 95 percent of the old tracks have been removed. The rebuilding of roughly 10 miles of track will require the line to remain closed through the summer.
