Storms that swept across the Chicago area left thousands of residents in the dark Saturday.

Some who lost power during the storms are still without service.

According to ComEd, at the height of the storm, 167,000 customers were in the dark. Power has been restored to 80 percent of them, while 18,300 remain without service.

In Indiana, Nipsco says 8,600 lost power Friday. Most of those were in Hammond. At last word, 658 remain without power.

The rest were in areas to the south and west.
