$28M in federal flood aid designated for Chicago area

Millions of dollars in aid is heading to the Chicago area to help pay for damage caused by last spring's flooding.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is giving Chicago, Cook and DuPage counties, and the state of Illinois more than $28 million.

Cook County will get the most, $13.9 million.

DuPage County gets $7 million.

The City of Chicago will receive $4.3 million and the State of Illinois will get $3.6 million to help pay for flood cleanup.
