Michigan apples: Bumper crop should mean lower prices

Despite a warm March and spring freezes, many Michigan apple farms are seeing bumper crops.

Michigan's Apple Committee estimates about 30 million bushels for the 2013 harvest compared to just 3 million in 2012, when drought wiped out much of the crop.

Michigan is the third largest apple producer in the country.

The good crop should mean lower prices.
