Lake Forest man Brian Ludmer wounded in LAX shooting crawled to safety

November 5, 2013 (LOS ANGELES)

Teacher Brian Ludmer, 29, was on his way to Chicago for a wedding. He was in a security line when the shooting started.

A bullet hit his calf and shattered a bone. He crawled away and hid in a small storeroom. Ludmer was rescued by police.

"The feeling of relief after hearing the voices and peeking out and seeing that it was in fact police was, I can't even describe. And they pulled me out," said Ludmer.

The officers put him in a wheelchair and raced him out of the airport.

Doctors say he'll recover.
