Chicago e-cigarette ban advances in City Council

E-cigarettes are a step closer to falling under the same restrictions as regular cigarettes in Chicago.

The City Council Health and Finance Committee voted to regulate electronic cigarettes as tobacco products.

That means banning them wherever smoking is prohibited and cutting sales to minors.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel says this is key in stopping minors from picking up smoking.
