Mayor Rahm Emanuel's office says the new tool allows residents to track the work in their neighborhoods and on the 3,800 miles of streets across Chicago.
The Pothole Tracker gives a snapshot of the potholes that Department of Transportation crews filled during the past seven days.
Each blue dot on the website is a location were crews have been busy repairing roadways, and the site lists the total number of potholes fixed on each block. Last year, crews filled more than 625,000 potholes.
The mayor said he has ordered Department of Transportation pothole patching crews to work 24/7.
But how accurate is the Chicago's Pothole Tracker? According to the tracker, crews have filled potholes near 18th and Clark streets and although more potholes have popped up, it's clear patching was done near 16th and Clark. Despite the service, Luis Ordonez says he's been busier than ever with tire and rim repairs.
"We're still ordering at least three to five wheels a day," he said.
