Twenty-three-year-old Erick Maya is charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery with a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.
Police say he shot the woman and her 15-year-old daughter Thursday morning as they were getting into an SUV.
According to investigators, Maya and the teen had dated.
