Laura Kubiak says her superiors didn't want her to report the incident because it would embarrass the department. She did report it and says the complaint was sustained by the Office of Internal Affairs.
Despite that, Kubiak says her 12-year career as a police spokesperson was terminated and she was reassigned to the midnight shift as a beat officer in a dangerous neighborhood.
Kubiak claims the officer who assaulted her was never reprimanded but she, and a witness to the alleged incident, were both transferred.
