Ellen DeGeneres wanted to take the "most retweeted picture ever" at the 86th Academy Awards. It only took her 45 minutes to break the record.

Ellen posed for a "selfie" with nearly a dozen A-List celebrities in the front row at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, Sunday night. She posted it immediately, with the caption "If only Bradley's arm was longer. Best photo ever. #oscars."

The photo was retweeted more than one million times in less than an hour, breaking the previous record of 777,000, held by President Barack Obama.

Twitter briefly crashed in the next few minutes following the picture, with users all across the United States reporting trouble accessing the social network.
