Male hit by Metra train on NW Side, expect delays during morning commute

March 7, 2014 (CHICAGO)

The male was struck by train No. 605 near the Norwood Park station, 6088 N. Northwest Highway, about 6:50 a.m., according to Metra officials. Police said the male was listed in critical condition, but did not release further details.

Trains were stopped for about 45 minutes in the heart of rush hour, according to Metra's website. Service resumed about 7:35 a.m.

Metra officials are investigating.
