Chicago River to be dyed green for St. Patrick's Day despite ice

March 12, 2014 (CHICAGO)

Even the traditional dying of the Chicago River will going on as planned even though it's covered with ice. Organizers say they will be able to ride right over the ice and still manage to dye the river green.

But the ice is keeping some boats off the river.

The Wendella Sightseeing Company will not be able to start its season this weekend because its boats are locked in any icy Calumet River shipyard.
