Tyquone Greer, 19, is a forward on the Orr Academy basketball team. On Friday night, he made a brief appearance in the sectional game against Fenwick.
"I knew that I was still in pain but I really wanted to put on my jersey because I knew this could have been my last time so for me to put my jersey on, felt real good," said Greer.
Last Sunday morning, he was a party in the 4900-block of West Race when police say there was an argument. One of the people involved left the party, came back with a gun and opened fire.
Prosecutors have charged 22-year-old Patrick Calhoun with aggravated battery for the shooting.
