3 shot in Lawndale near 16th, St. Louis

Three people were shot near Saint Louis and 16th Street on the city's West Side in the Lawndale neighborhood around 3 p.m. Thursday.

At least two of the victims were teenagers, and they drove themselves to the hospital, officials said.

An 18-year-old male shot in the head, arm and shoulder is in critical condition, officials said. A 19-year-old female that was shot in her buttocks is in good condition. A 21-year-old male was shot in the hand.

All three were transferred to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where there is a heavy police presence.
