CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 30-year-old man was charged in a hit-and-run crash that killed a 62-year-old man in Chicago's Logan Square neighborhood.
Around 4 a.m. last Thursday, police said a car heading south on North Western Avenue ran a red light and hit a vehicle heading east on West Logan Boulevard.
After impact, the driver of the car allegedly left the scene and did not notify police. Authorities identified the driver as Demetrius Frayzier. He was arrested around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Aliser Maldonado, 62, was identified as the driver of the other vehicle. He was rushed to Illinois Masonic Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities said he died of blunt force trauma.
Frayzier faces one felony count of reckless homicide with a motor vehicle and one felony count of leaving the scene of an accident.
He is due in bond court on Friday.
