City considers restricting parking near Sox park

April 8, 2010 (CHICAGO)

The City Council's traffic committee has approved a proposal to extend the parking permit program for several additional blocks to the south and east of the ballpark.

Third Ward Alderman Pat Dowell proposed the changes saying new residents near the stadium are having difficulty parking in front of their homes on game days.

The restrictions would begin three hours before the first pitch and end three hours after the last out.

The plan now goes before the full City Council for approval.
