On Tuesday, doctors at Northwestern Memorial Hospital replaced a metal rod that had reportedly caused her discomfort.
Maggie Daley was diagnosed with cancer in 2002. She was hospitalized Saturday morning after experiencing pain in the leg where a titanium rod was inserted last March to help strengthen a bone weakened by cancer.
Doctors say the procedure was successful and that Mrs. Daley is expected to remain hospitalized for up to five days.
