Police investigating reports of a possible burglary discovered Dwight Jones, 59, dead. Neighbors say Jones lived alone in the home along 184th Place in New Lenox.
Police say the back door was unlocked and the inside of the home appeared to have been ransacked. Jones's car, a 2008 gray four-door Volkswagen Jetta, is also missing.
So far, there has been no word on a motive or suspect in Jones's slaying.
