OAK FOREST --
Police surrounded a southwest suburban apartment building where an armed man barricaded himself inside Wednesday afternoon. Neighbors said the man might be holding a child hostage. That was never confirmed by police. Police were still not commenting on the situation Wednesday night. The situation ended peacefully after about three hours, at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
