Lake Shore Drive was off limits to cars for a few early morning hours to make way for the bikes.
Money raised from the event goes to the Chicagoland Bicycle Federation.
Chicago turns out for 'Bike the Drive'
Organizers said up to 22,000 people took part in the annual biking event along the lakefront Sunday morning. Ideal weather most likely played a role in the greater-than-usual turnout.
