The Chicago Summer Business Institute was founded in 1991 to provide meaningful summer jobs for Chicago high school students and to introduce them to the financial services sector. The program combines on-the-job experience with classroom education.
The institute targets high achievers from Chicago's public, parochial and private high schools.
Sponsors say the program gives students a sense of what working in a professional environment will be like once they complete their college education.
