Navy vets receive medals decades later

Congressman Rahm Emanuel awarded the long overdue medals to Charles Roberts and Irwin Gleisner. Gleisner, who is 92, earned his medals for his service in the Navy during World War II. Roberts received medals for his service in the 1960s aboard the USS Barb, a nuclear submarine in the U.S. Pacific fleet.

Roberts said the fact that he was getting medals was a bit of a surprise due to the secretive nature of his work.

Gleisner sought his medals only at the insistence of his daughters.
