Police investigate attempted child abduction

WARRENVILLE The Warrenville Police Department said a 12-year-old girl was riding her bicycle on Branch Avenue near Continental Drive on the city's west side on the afternoon of September 28, when a man began following her in his car.

The child says the man offered her money if she agreed to get in his vehicle. She refused, prompting the man to yell at her as he continued to follow her onto Continental Drive. Police say the man parked and ended up chasing the girl.

Authorities hope a new sketch of the suspect will lead to an arrest in the case.
