Consumer Reports also found that most people still have a bulk of their shopping to do. Only 38 percent say they've started their holiday shopping. That's down from 43 percent by this time last year.
Shoppers plan to search for deals Black Friday
Most shoppers plan to cut back on spending this year. But 26 percent of those polled say they will hit malls and stores on the day after Thanksgiving in search of blockbuster sales. That's up five percent over last year.
