Toddler dies in South Side fire

CHICAGO The fire broke out inside a two-story house in the 5700-block of South Hoyne at approximately 8:15 p.m. Saturday.

The Chicago Fire Department says they removed 2-year-old Jaquin Roby from a front bedroom.

He was rushed to Holy Cross Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Neighbors and friends have left toys outside the home in memory of Jaquin.

"He was a lively little fellow. He thought he was a big man," family friend Dororthy Jones said. "[He would] just walk up and down the street. He made friends with everybody."

There were no other injuries reported.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
