Pelco Layoffs 17 Clovis Employees

Clovis, CA Pelco officials say the company is consolidating all of its sales operations into a single team in an effort to better serve its global customer base, in a slowing economy.

Joe Olmstead said, "Yes, Pelco is a global organization and we've been impacted like all of the other businesses in the industry and the world, and so we've had some sales softening. But that wasn't the driving factor in this case, it was the reorganization of the department."

Marketing Director Joe Olmstead says the layoffs are sales support personnel.

The primary sales staff remains intact. Last December, Pelco let go 19 other Clovis workers and shut down a plant in Indiana.

Pelco employs more than two thousand people at its facility in Clovis. The company was sold to a French conglomerate in 2007.
