Mayor Rudy Clay and Senator Evan Bayh toured some of the properties Monday.
Funding comes from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. To date, Gary has used that money to knock down 101 homes.
Senator Bayh initially toured the area in June of 2009 and then fought for funding. He leaves office next month.
