Oprah: Movie flop led to mac 'n' cheese binge

Oprah Winfrey says the box office failure of her movie "Beloved" sent her into a "macaroni and cheese eating tailspin."

The 1998 film was based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Toni Morrison. Winfrey played a former slave and had heralded the production as one of her most significant achievements.

The movie opened the same weekend as "Bride of Chucky" and got wiped out by the competition. Winfrey said she considers "Beloved" the worst failure of her career and said it's the only time she's ever been depressed.

Oprah told her chef to whip up some mac and cheese and keep it coming, she says, "about 30 pounds worth."
