New law scales back senior free-ride program

It's the end of the line for Illinois' free-rides-for-seniors program - at least for some.

On Monday, Governor Pat Quinn signed legislation that will scale back the perk to only lower income seniors.

Ex-governor Rod Blagojevich started the program.

Now, only seniors enrolled in the state's circuit breaker program will be eligible for free rides on the CTA, Pace and Metra.
