Union members and other leaders from Will County came together Wednesday in Joliet to try to Tinley Park Mental Health Center, which is slated to close as a budget cutting measure.

They want Governor Pat Quinn to rescind his plan to close the Tinley Park Mental Health Center. The state announced last year the facility is set to close in July. Patients will be relocated to other health care facilities. Tinley Park Mental Health serves about 2,000 patients each year.

Governor Quinn said patients will still have access to quality metal health services from community-based care facilities.
