Turbo-charged may not always offer more power, less fuel consumption

Turbo-charged car engines may not deliver the performance or the fuel economy that drivers want, according to new tests by Consumer Reports.

The magazine blasts some automaker's claims that their turbo-charged vehicles offer more power or lower fuel consumption.

Consumer Reports says the Chevrolet Cruze turbo-charged engines, Ford's 2013 eco-boost turbo-charged engines, The Hyundai Sonata turbo, Kia Sportage turbo and the Ford Escape 2.0T do not perform as well as similar models with conventional engines.
