Study: Adults text while driving more than teens

March 28, 2013

The findings come from a survey conducted by AT&T that was provided to USA Today.

Nearly half of all adults admitted texting while driving compared to 43-percent of teenagers.

More than 98-percent of adults admit knowing it's wrong but still do it.

Six in ten people say they were not texting behind the wheel three years ago.

An extensive national campaign to stop distracted driving has led to new laws.

Thirty-nine states including Illinois and the District of Columbia now ban texting while driving.
