Our Chicago: Town hall explores how Latina, Latino leaders have shaped chambers of commerce

Hosted by ABC7's Diana Palomar
CHICAGO (WLS) -- ABC 7, Chicago's No. 1 station for news, presented a virtual town hall looking at Latina and Latino leaders and how they have shaped chambers of commerce throughout Chicago and suburbs.

ABC 7 Vice President of Community Engagement Diana Palomar moderated this hourlong event celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month. "OUR CHICAGO: VOICES OF THE COMMUNITY" on abc7chicago.com, Thursday, Oct. 7, at 2:00 p.m.

In this week's installment of "Our Chicago: Voices of the Community," the conversation began with the heads of five chambers detailing their work in helping entrepreneurs and business owners elevate their businesses and what they are doing to support local economies. The town hall also illuminated how this Latino leadership is fostering membership diversity in local chambers. In addition, as members of the Illinois Latino Small Business Partnership, they are also helping small businesses recover from pandemic challenges and devise plans to grow and flourish.

Guest panelists include the following:
-Jaime di Paulo, Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
-Ivette Trevino, Little Village Chamber of Commerce
-Nilda Esparza, Logan Square Chamber of Commerce
-Karina Garcia-Alanis, Aurora Regional Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
-Alex Páramo, Joliet LEDA (Latino Economic Development Association)
-Pedro Guerra, Illinois Latino Small Business Partnership

The virtual town hall was also exclusively streamed live on ABC 7's Facebook Live, YouTube, ABC 7's app, and ABC 7's connected TV apps on Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV and Roku.
