Snow plow falls on tracks, delaying Metra trains

A small snow plow fell onto a section of the Burlington Northern Railroad tracks in Naperville Friday morning. As a result, a Metra spokesperson said, no trains could move through.

ABC7's Alan Krashesky happened to be at the Naperville train station when it happened. He says the driver of the tractor was cleaning the sidewalk at the station when he backed up off the platform and got stuck on the tracks. Railroad workers and waiting passengers were able to flag down an approaching freight train, which was able to stop before hitting the plow.

The scene was cleared by 11 a.m. Friday, but trains on Metra's Burlington Northern Line were delayed about 30 minutes.
